Call for Abstracts
This year, we have numerous sessions submitted by organizers that are soliciting abstracts. These sessions vary, but include paper panels, poster sessions, lightning talks, and roundtable discussions. Please go to our website page: https://www.politicalecology.org/sessions for the full list of sessions. You will find descriptions, contact information, and abstract deadline for each session organizer. If you are interested in submitting an abstract for these sessions, please fill out this google form and also send them directly to the session organizer.
Abstracts are due by December 22, unless otherwise stated on the CFP. You will be notified of which session you have been organized into by January 8 and the date of your presentation by mid-January.
There are two options for abstract submissions: papers and posters. Please read the details for each type of submission below.
Call for Paper Abstracts
We strongly encourage participants to submit abstracts to the listed sessions; however, we will accept individual abstracts. Abstracts submitted to the conference individually rather than in response to specific CFPs will be sorted thematically and will be notified of acceptance by DOPE Organizing Committee. Additionally, if you are not accepted into the session you have submitted to, we will organize you into sessions thematically.
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words in length and include a title and three to five keywords. Abstracts should be submitted within the registration form. The abstract submission deadline is December 22, 2023, unless otherwise stated on the CFP. Please submit them via google form.
Poster Abstracts
In response to the growing interest and positive feedback of poster sessions, DOPE Organizers invite poster abstracts from participants. Presenting a poster is an effective way for participants to communicate their research to interested colleagues allowing more opportunities for one-on-one discussion.
Posters are a great alternative to conventional paper sessions if:
1. Your research is visually interesting (i.e., presented through maps, pictures, and graphics);
2. You want to present in a casual, conversational venue and have one-on-one interactions;
3. You want to make new connections and network with fellow DOPE attendees; and/or
4. Your research is a work in progress.
To submit a poster that is not for a listed session, please submit your abstract via Google Form by December 22, 2023. Abstracts should be no more than 200 words in length.
Posters should be at maximum 3'x4'. For other tips on creating posters, check out
